Noteworthy vertical-transportation (VT) projects in Sri Lanka featuring high-tech, energy-efficient Hyundai Elevator equipment provided by agent Abans Engineering were showcased in September by the Daily Mirror. Served by six high-speed Hyundai elevators, the office building Colombo 3 for Grafeio One Pvt. Ltd. in Colombo is one of the only buildings in Sri Lanka to utilize Hyundai Elevator’s destination-control system. At John Keel Holdings Plc’s Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort in Colombo, 85 elevators — including high-speed units — and 27 escalators — including Sri Lanka’s longest escalator — operate. Colombo City Centre is equipped with 15 elevators and 10 escalators, and The Dynasty Apartment Complex in Kandy boasts what are among the tallest machine-room-less elevators in the island country.
