Technical Safety BC Requests Input on Upcoming Fee Changes

Technical Safety BC, an independent, self-funded organization that oversees safe installation and operation of technical systems and equipment across the Canadian province of British Columbia, is requesting feedback on fee changes for 2024 and 2025. The proposed changes will affect most fees, including fee structure changes to certification exams; hourly rates for administrative, professional and safety services; and the removal of several fees. Technical Safety BC will use input to inform how fee increases are structured and better understand how the changes will impact respondents and their industries. Fees are used to recover costs related to safety oversight, public safety campaigns, investigating incidents, assessing equipment and systems, and finding ways to innovate and improve programs and products for safety partners and clients. A full list of proposed fee changes can be found online.
