IUEC Launches Veterans Assistance Program

International Union of Elevator Constructors

The International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) General President Frank J. Christensen announced on November 11 the launch of the Veterans Assistance Program (VAP), as what he said is the “the union’s newest and perhaps most important initiative,” Construction Dive reports. The IUEC will now provide resources, including hands-on support in navigating the Veterans Administration (VA) benefits system, according to the announcement by Christensen. The program is in response to the group learning of the obstacles faced by veterans as they pursue their military benefits. “Whether a Veteran is trying to file a new claim with the VA or appeal a rejected claim, our new program will be there for IUEC members as a resource – as an extension of their toolkit – helping Veterans navigate any and all matters they may encounter,” he said.
