The Norman Foster-designed 897-ft-tall, 47-story 425 Park Avenue in NYC is served by TK Elevator (TKE) units with cabs by Brooklyn-based manufacturer National Elevator Cab & Door (NECD). The commercial skyscraper is ongoing finishing touches, with completion anticipated in the early months of 2022, New York YIMBY reported. TKE tells ELEVATOR WORLD the vertical-transportation system consists of 12 gearless traction passenger, two gearless traction service and two hydraulic freight elevators. The NECD cabs feature brushed stainless steel walls, illuminated ceilings and white stone floors. Foster + Partners’ Norman Foster designed the structure for L&L Holding Co., Tokyu Land Corp. and BentallGreenOak. It offers 667,000 ft2 of office space and a ground-floor restaurant run by Chef Daniel Humm. Located in Midtown, the structure had been expected to achieve LEED Gold certification and become NYC’s first WELL-certified building. Tishman Construction is the general contractor.
