Reflecting TKE’s global sustainability initiatives and successes, in India the OEM has committed to achieving a Green House Gas emission reduction target of 53% by 2050 from a base year of 2018-2019. Among energy-saving initiatives TKE (India) has undertaken at its multipurpose facility (MPF) in Chakan, Pune, are optimizing powder-coating units, air-conditioning systems and electrical transformers; introducing electric-powered forklifts or scissor lifts; installing motion sensors, LED lighting and energy-efficient punching, bending and compression machines; and installing a solar plant with 850 kW capacity. “Our strategy prioritizes the adoption of clean energy in our operations to reduce overall energy consumption,” TKE (India) CEO and Managing Director Manish Mehan said. “Conferral of this prestigious award by the Ministry of [PNRE] is both confirmation and incentive for us to extend our commitment to sustainability even further.”
