TKE Launches Elevator and Escalator APIs for MAX

On September 1, TKE Elevator (TKE) announced the launch of elevator and escalator Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) on the new TKE Developer Portal for units connected to the cloud-based IoT MAX solution, currently available in 14 countries. APIs connect vertical-transportation equipment, buildings and users — allowing operators to automate certain processes and users to control elevators via a mobile app. Building owners and managers can use APIs to integrate elevator and escalator data into existing building management systems to receive direct information about the operating status of equipment. Another API enables passengers to call and control an elevator via their smartphones. Cleaning and service robots can also be connected to elevators through APIs, enabling them to move autonomously through buildings. “Connected elevators and escalators ensure greater comfort and efficiency and act as a pivotal building block in shaping smart buildings and creating better cities in which to live,” TKE Head of Digital Transformation Hyun-Shin Cho said.
