TKE Supplies 102 VT Units For New CKG Terminal in China

TK Elevator (TKE) supplied 102 vertical-transportation (VT) units for the new Terminal 3B at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG) in China. The units include passenger elevators, panoramic machine-room-less elevators with a maximum capacity of 3 t and heavy-duty freight elevators capable of handling up to 9 t. The latest VT installations build on an existing relationship that includes 201 TKE VT units in Terminal 3Q and a footprint of more than 400 units across CKG, a vital air traffic hub in western China. Inaugurated in April, the new Terminal 3B is the world’s largest standalone airport satellite hall, spanning 363,000 m² and featuring sustainable architectural features such as thermal dimming glass, optimized natural lighting and advanced insulation. CKG handles up to 80 million passengers annually.
