Through a green tariff and a partnership with energy supplier Cobb Electric Membership Corp., TK Elevator (TKE) has achieved 100% renewable electricity at its Innovation and Qualification Center (IQC) in Atlanta, TKE announced on August 25. The news follows TKE’s previous announcement that the IQC — the cornerstone of the company’s new North American headquarters at The Battery Atlanta — achieved LEED Gold certification, which is “virtually unheard of for a building consisting primarily of an elevator test tower.” TKE observed the milestones align with the company’s goal to achieve 100% renewable electricity across global operations by 2030. “We are committing countless resources toward making the world safer and healthier, including purchasing renewable electricity,” TKE CEO North America and Group Chief Operating Officer, Field Kevin Lavallee said.
