The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reported May 31 that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has granted approval for construction of the Toyomi District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, a development that will feature twin 53-story condominiums at a planned height of about 189 m and a total of 2077 units. Plans call for a store, a ward hall, and a clinic on the first floor. The second floor will house a nursery school, and a residential entrance hall will be on the third floor. An open space of about 4,200 m2 will face the school. Demolition of an existing building is scheduled to start in September, with construction on the new buildings expected to begin by January 2023. Completion is scheduled for 2027.
