Otis India announced on April 24 that, since November 2023, Otis volunteers have planted 2,000 trees each in Bengaluru and Kolkata, with plans to plant an additional 2,000 trees each in Mumbai and New Delhi this year. The nationwide initiative furthers the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, specifically supporting community engagement and global sustainability. Otis India employees are expected to contribute approximately 500,000 volunteer hours by 2030, “ensuring that our colleagues help sustain and improve the communities where they live and work,” Otis India President Sebi Joseph observed, adding “Planting diverse, native trees is also an important step toward helping preserve biodiversity in these urban centers.” To help ensure the longevity of the trees, Otis India has committed to maintaining them for one year.
