Woman Critically Injured in Washington, D.C., Elevator Incident

A woman who uses a wheelchair and has a service dog suffered critical injuries as a result of her arm becoming trapped in a freight elevator door at her nine-story apartment building in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C., on September 26, outlets including The Washington Times report. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services staff transported the woman to a local hospital with “life-threatening” injuries. The incident happened shortly after 7:30 p.m., and the D.C. Department of Buildings has ordered the elevator removed from service as city officials investigate.
