Woman in Tel Aviv Seriously Injured in Elevator Shaft Fall

A 77-year-old woman in Tel Aviv, Israel, was hospitalized in serious condition as a result of falling three stories down an elevator shaft of an under-renovation building, The Times of Israel reported on October 18. Responders who found the woman suffering from multiple injuries at the bottom of the shaft said packages and cardboard boxes that had collected in the shaft cushioned her fall and “likely saved” her.
