Dear Elevator World Türkiye readers,

Many events in the elevator and escalator industry took place at a dizzying pace in May and June, with only a week’s break between them. I would like to mention that I was so busy keeping up with this fast-paced schedule that I could hardly find time to go to the office or home.

The biggest event was the 19th Asansör İstanbul, held every two years at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center. Normally held in March, the fair was moved to May due to Ramadan. While the number of foreign participants and visitors was disappointing, Konya-based manufacturers made a strong impression at the fair.

The week following Asansör İstanbul, the European Elevator Association (ELA) Annual General Assembly and Congress was held in Warsaw on May 21-22. Following the ELA Congress, the Polish Elevator Components Association (PALM) held its own congress at the same venue.

The second week of June saw the LIFTEX exhibition, dedicated to the elevator, escalator, and related industries, take place in the UK. Held every three years over two days, the exhibition featured many new products making their debut. Among the newly showcased products, the most notable were undoubtedly the new product groups presented by Elevantis (Sicor Italy). The company appears to have extended its advanced gearless machine quality to its newly introduced driver, mobile and remotely controllable adaptive control panel, and automatic floor doors.

In the third week of June, the 24th Elevcon meeting was held in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, one of Europe’s most colorful and oldest capitals.

The final event of the month was the 13th edition of Russian Elevator Week, held from June 25 to 27 at Hall 57 of the VDNKH Exhibition Center and in three outdoor tents.

The Turkish Elevator Manufacturers Federation (TASFED) organized a seminar on “Regulators, Safety Devices, and Buffer Product Certification with PGD Processes.” Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TSE, manufacturer firms, product certification bodies and sector representatives attended the event held on June 18, 2025, at Teknopark Ankara, where they had the opportunity to gain up-to-date information on product safety and certification processes.

The Elevator and Escalator Industrialists Association (AYSAD) held its ordinary General Assembly for 2025 on May 29, 2025, at the Machine Hangar Engineering and Technology Center Conference Hall in Kartal, Istanbul.

The focus of our July-August issue is on the machines that power elevator systems. Contributing to this topic are valuable articles by Yasin Eker from Eker Asansör, Cem Kapukaya from ILA Lift, and Stamatiou Themis from Elevator Plans.

We wish all our readers a healthy, happy, and prosperous summer.
