The All Elevator Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TASİAD) held its first breakfast meeting, which it plans to hold regularly, on May 7 at the Selectum City Ataşehir Brandium Hotel in Istanbul. The topic of the meeting, which featured a presentation by Cenk Ceylan, CEO of Arkel Elektronik A.Ş., was “The Impact of Global Economic Changes on the Elevator Industry.” Following the opening remarks by Yasemin Bulut, chair of the TASİAD Board of Directors who emphasized the importance of organization and educational initiatives in the sector, the meeting continued with Ceylan’s presentation, which covered the following topics:
- Overview of Global Economic Transformation. Global economic stagnation and recovery processes following the COVID-19 pandemic, disruptions in production and supply chains.
- Impact of Global Economic Trends on the Elevator Industry. Negative effects of rising raw material prices and currency fluctuations on elevator imports and exports.
- The Role of Technological Innovation and Digitalization. Energy savings and increased durability with the Otis’ Gen2 smart elevator system. High efficiency in maintenance processes with Schindler’s Schindler Ahead.
- Sustainability and Environmental Factors. Elevator systems that provide energy efficiency in LEED-certified green buildings. TK Elevator’s TWIN elevator system, which enables two elevators to operate in the same shaft, thereby saving energy.
- Conclusion and Future Forecasts. The effects of global economic uncertainties on investments in the elevator sector in terms of long-term impacts. The widespread adoption of sustainable and digital elevator technologies by 2030 in terms of future trends.
The meeting, which continued with question-and-answer sessions and interactive participation, concluded with Bulut presenting a plaque to Ceylan followed by a group photo.
