The Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA) announced its Maintenance Control Plan (MCP) committee has finalized a Maintenance Requirements Plan and Procedures document and accompanying logbook for the 2019 B355 code. The document follows requirements laid out in standardization organization CSA Group’s B355 Annex B, as well as part 2.3 of the code adoption document of Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority. CECA extends special thanks to MCP committee members Don Sanchez, Sean Cowen, Paul Bentley, Doug Guderian, Brian Elliott, Magdi Hanna and Henry Daza. The documents are for CECA member use only. The CECA logo must remain on all documents and logbooks, but members may also add their own logo. To obtain a copy of the new document and logbook, members may log in to their CECA account and select “MCP” in the “Member Area” pull-down tab. Members should then select “CECA MCP Guidelines, Procedures and Logbook (Members only — CECA logo must remain on documents,” then “MCPs and Terms of Agreement for MCP Use,” then “2019 Code B355.” The new document will be circulated to AHJs for their review. CECA also continues efforts to build its MCP library. Contractors are asked to encourage suppliers to participate, and suppliers are asked to reach out to MCP librarian Linda Witzke at email. For questions about the new document, logbook or MCP, email CECA.
