In Property Forum Thailand, Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd., recently highlighted how it invests in both human expertise and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize vertical-transportation (VT) equipment performance. Complementing Mitsubishi Elevator Thailand’s staff of well-trained mechanics is M’s BridgeTM, a predictive-maintenance solution that monitors VT equipment 24/7 and allows mechanics to address issues more quickly and accurately. The company, part of Japan’s Mitsubishi Electric, was also one of the first in Thailand to equip its mechanics with tablets that enable them to access information in real time and receive alerts. Using tablets has also improved schedule management and eliminated paper. Mitsubishi Elevator Thailand mechanics take part in a yearlong training course that blends classroom and hands-on learning. In addition, they are encouraged to participate in Mitsubishi Electric’s Skills Olympics, an in-house, Japan-based competition that focuses on “enhancing maintenance skills, troubleshooting abilities, safety awareness and customer engagement.”
