KONE Corp. has won an order to supply a suite of vertical-transportation solutions for the new 489-m-high mixed-use Panda Tower (officially Chengdu Tianfu Supertall) in Chengdu, Western China. Towering to a height of 95 floors, the iconic structure will provide office, hotel and retail space. The order comprises the installation of 24 KONE MiniSpace™ and five KONE MonoSpace® elevators. Included is a two-year standard maintenance contract, as well as KONE UltraRope®, the KONE E-Link™ system and KONE 24/7 Connected Services to ensure smooth operations throughout the building. In terms of its structure, the high-rise development resembles a snow-capped mountain, blending in with its natural environment. With an indoor pond and other garden features throughout the complex, its architectural design takes a sustainable approach. Upon its projected completion in 2027, Panda Tower is set to become Chengdu’s tallest.
