Germany-Based Nonprofit CIA Re-elects BOD

(l-r) Magnus Hell, Christian Schlegel and Holger Zeltwanger

The nonprofit CAN in Automation (CiA) association, based in Nuremberg, Germany, re-elected its Board of Directors (BoD) on April 9. They are: Magnus Hell from Infineon, technical director; Christian Schlegel from CHS Consulting, business director; and Holger Zeltwanger as managing director. Additionally, the regular CiA General Assembly appointed Bosch, Emotas, ESD, Kvaser, Microcontrol and Murata as Technical Committee members. Elected Business Committee members are Emotas, EDS, Microcontrol, Murata and Vector. Established in 1992, CiA has 755 members worldwide. The association develops the controller area network (CAN) ecosystem originally intended as an in-vehicle network, or IVN. Nowadays, the serial network is applied in different industry domains, including elevators via CANopen Lift, the CAN communication platform for elevator control systems currently based on Classical CAN.
