Hospital Elevator Fall in Greece Leads to Injuries

An investigation has been launched following an elevator accident on January 9 at Athens’ Red Cross Hospital in Athens, Greece, where four people were injured, ekathimerini.com is among outlets to report. During the incident, the elevator fell from the second floor. Four were injured in the fall, including two paramedics from a private ambulance service, a patient and the patient’s escort. All are receiving treatment for minor injuries and are under observation. Officials issued a statement saying that the elevator complied with safety regulations and had maintenance checks in December. The cause of the accident is under investigation, and a disciplinary inquiry has been initiated by the regional health directorate.
