“A Feeling of Comfort and Bliss”

Amar Sarin (AS), managing director and CEO, TARC Ltd., shares perspectives with your author (SSP) on the factors considered in selecting VT for the company’s upcoming Maceo project in New Gurgaon. 

SSP: What sets Maceo apart from other projects in New Gurgaon? 

AS: Maceo is an expansive and gated community developed by TARC. It was designed thoughtfully, ensuring a complete offering for all residents. Strategically located in Sector 91 of the burgeoning New Gurgaon area, Maceo offers a blend of amenities, facilities and services for all age groups. Covering more than 15 acres, the project is a mid-rise, group housing development that consists of 16 towers housing 788 two, three and four BHK apartments with luxury villa-type penthouse suites on the top two floors. The majority of residences overlook landscaped greenspace. An added plus is the location, which lends itself to business, travel, lifestyle and leisure. It is in proximity to National Highway 8 (NH8) with easy accessibility to Dwarka Expressway, a multi-utility corridor and KMP Expressway. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is just 45 min away.

The project offers experiential living that brings meaning and relevance to families. Amenities are curated and customized to provide a better quality of life. Community and well-being are the intangibles that the company focuses on to curate a wholesome living experience. An open gym, walkways and green space, along with a well-defined, safe play area for kids, differentiates this luxury project from those in crowded cities.

SSP: What was the primary focus while planning the theme of the project? 

AS: As a premium residential property, Maceo focuses on several aspects, such as fitness, sports and nature. A thoughtfully created sports arena with a plethora of activities, a calisthenics zone, a children’s play area and a pet care zone are situated within environs enlivened by interactive bodies of water that include lily ponds and floating gazebos. This not only rejuvenates every family member, but also enhances the tranquil ambiance.

Emphasis on nature and openness is of great significance to Maceo’s design. The semi-furnished apartments have large balconies that offer panoramic views of the landscaped areas. In fact, all the four-BHK apartments offer a spectacular 270-degree view of the surroundings. Each apartment has been designed to be spacious and well-ventilated, with amenities such as split air-conditioners, modular kitchens and wardrobes. Maceo embraces the meaning of home — a home that creates the feeling of comfort and bliss.

SSP: What is the importance of elevators in your company’s projects? Besides being functional, are they also considered a lifestyle amenity?

AS: Taking into account convenience, two lifts per tower have been installed. With fire-rated landing doors and cab interiors finished in grade 441 stainless steel, safety is very much considered. In total, 32 machine-room-less (MRL) lifts have been installed in the project. There are 16 passenger lifts with a capacity of eight and 16 service/passenger lifts with a capacity of 13 passengers. All lifts travel up to 1 m/s. Residents can look forward to whizzing off to the tower apartments in under a minute. Additional features of the lifts include: 

• AC variable-voltage, variable-frequency (VVVF) control systems

• Duplex group control operation

• 14-15 stops 

• Travel height of 38-42 m

• Automatic rescue devices (ARDs) and voice-synthesizers

SSP: Which factors, including manufacturers, were considered when selecting and designing VT for the project? 

AS: At Maceo, convenience and comfort for residents and minimal wait times are the key factors in designing VT. Being a mid-rise development with four apartments per floor, we have dedicated two elevators per tower for better efficiency. We installed Schindler’s Swiss-engineered elevators in our project. Being a global brand, Schindler brings assurance and safety for our patrons, which is a prerequisite for all TARC projects. Technology and reliable customer service from Schindler are a huge advantage, as well.

SSP: Are any car-park systems included in the project? 

AS: We understand the importance of spacious parking spaces. We have a conventional car-park system at Maceo in all the towers, with additional open spaces dedicated to parking.
