Ascen.tec, the 2nd International Elevator Technologies Exhibition, took place at Mediterranean Exhibition Center (MEC) in Athens on June 3-5, 2022.
The International Ascen.tec exhibition, which was highly satisfying for its exhibitors and visitors, gave the opportunity to leading manufacturers, importers and representatives of elevators to present their innovative technologies, products and solutions. At the same time, key market players, institutes, scientists and technicians had the chance to analyze their views, to highlight the sector’s problems and propose solutions for a particularly critical and sensitive sector that deals with the physical integrity and safety of people.
The attractiveness of Athens, which is a tourist city, and the unique Greek cuisine also invited the international visitors. There were many details that distinguished Ascen.tec fair, which was organized by Technoekdotiki/T-Press that reflected its experiences in other sectors. Technoekdotiki/T-Press CEO Voula Mourta, the architect of these details, specified many details including a hall plan, which satisfied both exhibitors and visitors, recreational areas, meeting rooms, a bouquet of flowers at each booth and hand sanitizers. In line with the Greek culture, the exhibition was held between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Although the closing was a bit late for us, the influx of visitors at these late hours confirmed the decision of the organizers.
The exhibition’s opening took place on the evening of the first day, with the opening speech of Mrs. Zeta Founta Mourta, head of public relations of the organizing company Technoekdotiki/T-Press.
In the opening ceremony were addressed greetings by:
Panos Skouroliakos, member of Parliament for Eastern Attica.
George Kavathas, president of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants (GSEVEE)
Anna Melanitou, member of the board of directors of the Association of Greek Architects (SADAS-PEA)

Serafim Maousidis, general secretary of the Panhellenic Federation of Electrical Contractors Associations
Manos Kranidis, secretary of the board of directors of the Hellenic Property Federation and president of the Association of Property Owners of the Northern Suburbs of Athens.
Following the speeches, the guests had a nice time at the gala dinner, where they enjoyed unique Greek delicacies.
Greece, which has an important place in elevator sector, has many companies that export to the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asian markets — especially to Europe — in addition to the domestic market.
ELEVATOR WORLD Europe has been the official media sponsor of Ascen.tec, where Artı Kasnak and Genemek from Türkiye opened the booths, and Hedefsan, Önersan and Prosis exhibited their products through their distributors.
Scientists specializing in companies and institutions exchanged views on common challenges during the three-day Ascen.tec Forum. The visitors had opportunities to be informed about all the developments regarding the lift sector with topics such as “institutional and legal framework of the industry of the elevators,” “standards and certification” and “accessibility of people with disabilities.”
The guests enjoyed live music and got to rest at the closing cocktail party on the evening of the last day and promised to meet again next year. The date of the event on the spring of 2024 will be announced later, and you will be able to track it on the activity calendar of our magazine.
