Carlo GavazziIec Contactors and Overloads

Carlo-GavazziIec-Contactors-and-Overloads

Carlo Gavazzi has introduced its new range of IEC contactors, overloads and accessories. The CC series contactors are available in eight frame sizes ranging from 25-900 amps AC1 (up to 600 hp at 480 VAC). Contactors are available with a wide selection of AC and DC coil voltages, choice of screw or lug terminals on larger contactors (50-80 amps), dual coil terminals for easy looping and at least one set of auxiliary contacts. The contactor’s coil is easily changed in case an emergency shipment with a nonstandard voltage is required. New mechanical interlock units for reversing contactor sets also include auxiliary contacts for electrical interlocking.

Matching GT series bimetallic thermal overloads provide class-10 trip protection for motor loads. Standard features include a set of auxiliary contacts, test button and manual or automatic-reset direct mounting or optional mounting bracket. More advanced motor protection is available with the CGE series of electronic (overload) motor-protection relays.

Absolute Fops by Micronor

Micronor Inc. has announced its absolute fiber optic position sensor (FOPS), combining the advantages of fiber optics with a patent-pending optical design. The MR330 Absolute FOPS is intended as a high-end sensor for extreme environments where conventional electrical resolvers or encoders fall short and absolute position needs to be monitored. This product is intended as a complementary absolute encoder to the com-pany’s ZapFree™ MR310 series, introduced in 2004.

Features include:

  • Absolute angular measurement from 0° to 360°
  • 13-bit (8192-count) resolution
  • Immunity to electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference, lightning and ground loops
  • Interference-free sensor transmission exceeding 300 m
  • Passive sensor meeting ATEX requirements for use in hazardous locations
  • Multiple available interfaces: solid state imaging, universal serial bus, serial, Modbus®, analog and digital set points.
