TASFED determined its new management at the General Assembly held on June 7.
The Elevator Industrialists’ Federation (ASFED), established in 2013 to act as the umbrella organization for elevator and escalator associations operating in Türkiye, was granted the right to use the term “Turkish” in its name with the approval of the Directorate General of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of the Interior in 2020. As a result, it was renamed the Turkish Elevator Industrialists Federation (TASFED). Yusuf Atik, who put great effort into establishing the Federation and has been serving as the President of the Board of Directors since its establishment, handed over the flag to Cem Bozdağ after the Sixth Ordinary General Assembly.
For the Sixth Ordinary General Assembly, the members of the Federation gathered on June 7 in the conference hall of Merih Asansör located in Temelli, Ankara. Under the moderation of General Manager Gülay Pala, the Board of Directors that would oversee the Assembly was first elected. Following the reading of the annual report, the new Board of Directors was elected with a single list. Yusuf Atik, who has been serving as the President of the Board of Directors since the establishment of the Federation, did not run for re-election. As a result of the voting conducted with a single list, the main and substitute members of the Board of Directors who will serve for three years were determined. Following the General Assembly, the Board of Directors convened on the same day and allocated roles in their first meeting, thus forming the new TASFED management as follows:
- Cem Bozdağ, President of the Board of Directors
- Zafer Karabay, Vice President
- Özcan Toprak, Vice President
- Remzi Aslan, Vice President
- Barış Sancak, Vice President

Muzaffer Hızarcı, Kerim Mahsereci and Sinan Tepe were elected as members of the Audit Committee.
Speaking on behalf of the new Board of Directors, Cem Bozdağ said, “While assisting Mr. Yusuf as his Vice President, I have learned a lot from him and gained valuable insights on many matters. Mr. Yusuf has contributed immensely, both materially and spiritually, and has devoted a lot of time up to this day. I would like to express gratitude to Mr. Yusuf, both personally and on behalf of the sector.”
At the General Assembly, following delegates’ suggestion, a proposal was made to appoint Yusuf Atik, who has served as the President of the Board of Directors since the establishment of the Federation and has generously supported the Federation both materially and spiritually on every platform, as the Honorary President. The proposal was unanimously accepted, and Yusuf Atik was appointed as the Honorary President. At the end of the voting, Nermin Boyacıoğlu presented the Honorary Presidency plaque to Yusuf Atik.
After a coffee break, Federation members promptly gathered with the aim of reviewing the draft of the new Lift Regulation and providing feedback to the ministry.
