Although our country’s political agenda is always busy, we are leaving behind a summer with economic recession. In this period of recession, we see several prudent companies that are downsizing in a controlled way, and other companies that have lost control and vanish despite having years of experience. As Cem Kapukaya also mentions in his article, it is upsetting that these companies do not turn off their switch in an ethically correct way. As they are leaving behind many aggrieved employees and suppliers…

In our September-October issue, we are handling the subject of “Sustainability and Digitalization” which everyone keeps talking about, although its actual feasibility level in elevator and escalator industry is a topic of debate. There are many valuable articles in this comprehensive file. “Using Digital Tools To Elevate Sustainability” by Robert Kaspersma and Claudio Donghi from KONE; “Toward Smart Elevators” by Dr. Giorgos Georgiadis from KLEEMANN; “LEED by Example” by Philip W. Grone; and “Sustainability in the Elevator Industry – Impact Review” by TAK Mathews shed light on this important subject. Adem Mert summarizes the subject of digitalization and sustainability, while Süleyman Özcan handles the situation from a different perspective.
