Ninth annual event provides a feast of fun on the Mystic Blue.
A good time was had by all aboard the Mystic Blue, one of several dinner-cruise ships that traverses Lake Michigan after departing from Chicago’s famous Navy Pier, on June 10 for the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation’s (EESF) Ninth Annual Chicago Cruise. EESF reserved the bottom of three decks which was outfitted with a dance floor, deejay and open bar. Approximately 120 EESF supporters attended, feasting on a buffet of pasta, chicken, tilapia, roast beef and, for dessert, a chocolate fondue bar.
As the sun set, guests repaired to the top observation deck where they enjoyed views of the Chicago skyline, passing sailboats and the turn-of-the-century Chicago Harbor Lighthouse. The two-hour event was capped off by a fireworks display that EESF Director Nikole Gore-Layton described as “amazing.” EESF would like to thank all who attended, especially sponsors Formula Systems North America (Diamond Level, bar); Adams Elevator Equipment Co. and GAL/Hollister Whitney, (Platinum Level, food); Tri-Tronics (Gold Level, deejay); and AFD Industries; Canton Elevator, Inc.; Dupar-The Fixture Co.; EMS Group; H&H Industrial Motor Services, Inc.; Innovation Industries, Inc.; MEI-Total Elevator Solutions; The Peelle Co. and Vertitron Midwest Inc. (Silver Level).
