More than 100 supporters of the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation of Canada (EESFC) enjoyed a relaxing evening aboard the Showboat on August 11 for the EESFC’s Eighth Annual Toronto Harbour Cruise in Toronto. Approximately CAD12,000 (US$9,070) was raised for the EESFC. As the sun set on a warm, breezy summer evening, guests took in views of passing vessels (including the royal yacht of Norway, the Norge) and the scenic Toronto skyline. Dinner included an array of salads and vegetables, grilled chicken breast and a vast selection of gourmet desserts. As always, a highlight of the evening was the split-the-pot raffle, which was organized by Tom Rennick of ARC Elevator, Inc. The CAD910 (US$704) collected was split between the EESFC and the winner.
