From Tuscany to Miami

From-Tuscany-to-Miami
(l-r) Massimo Bezzi, John Antona and Gianluca Bertazzoni had a sushi lunch at KIKO Japanese Restaurant in Plantation, Florida, near Antona’s office in Fort Lauderdale. They talked passionately about yacht elevators, which Antona noted he finds “fascinating with unique style, elegance and performance.”

Massimo Bezzi, John Antona and Gianluca Bertazzoni were able to meet in Antona’s hometown of Miami when Bezzi and Betazzoni (both from Italy) attended the Miami International Boat Show on February 16-20. Antona is a 40-year veteran of the elevator industry, president of a local consultancy and former longtime chief of the City of Miami Beach Elevator Safety Division. Bertazzoni oversees sales for Bertazzoni Lift Service, a well-established commercial elevator company in Italy founded by his father, Ezio Bertazzoni. Bertazzoni and Bezzi are also partners in VERTEC Marine, a company specializing in yacht lifts and elevators with worldwide service capability. Bezzi of ICM Marine designs and manufactures the equipment, while Bertazzoni Marine provides installation and service. ELEVATOR WORLD was pleased to learn that Bezzi and Antona, meeting for the first time, spoke about writing a paper on this specialized section of the elevator business.

Since 1953, Elevator World, Inc. has been the premier publisher for the global vertical transportation industry. It employs specialists in Mobile, Alabama, and has technical and news correspondents around the world.
