High-Rise Complex Underway in Tokyo
Blue Style reported on details of Bunkyo Gardens, part of the under-construction Kasuga/Korakuen station project in Tokyo. It includes four buildings: Park Court Bunkyo Koishikawa (40 floors of apartments at 148.4 m tall), Bunkyo Garden Gate Tower (23 floors of offices at 110.7 m tall), the Bunkyo Garden South (condominiums) and Bunkyo Garden West (13 floors of apartments at 50.3 m tall). There will be a 6,500-m2 “Green Valley” of open spaces in the middle of the complex stretching north/ south.
Park Court Bunkyo Koishikawa will have a second-floor basement directly connected to Tokyo Metro’s Kasuga station. There will also be retail space on the first floor, with the sixth floor serving as the main entrance and courtyard. Shared facilities, such as a kids’ room and a guest room, will be on the seventh and eighth floors. The 40th floor will host a skydeck and pool. There will be 577 total units in the complex, a collaboration between Mitsui Fudosan Residential, Mitsubishi Estate Residence and Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate.
Yokohama Kitanaka Tower Tops Out, Sold Out
Yokohama Kitanaka Tower has topped out at 58 stories on the waterfront in Yokohama, Japan’s largest city by population located on Tokyo Bay, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reported. Developed by Mori Building Co., Ltd., the tower is connected to the Bashamichi transit station and includes a commercial podium and 1,176 condominiums on the 5th-45th and 52nd-58th floors. On floors 47-51 are rooms called the Oakwood units, which have their own observation area, restaurant and lobby on the 46th floor. As of February, units in the development had sold out.
