IGV Group showed off its new manufacturing process and assets, representing a EUR3.5-million (US$4.6-million) investment, to more than 300 customers, suppliers, members of the press, employees and their families on July 12 in Vignate, Italy, during IGV Open Day. The event included a plant tour and post-tour celebration.

IGV Open Day showcased the technology and design of the company’s 22,000-m2 plant. Vignate Mayor Emilio Vergani, IGV’s special guest, thanked 83-year-old IGV founder and President Eng. Giuseppe Volpe for keeping IGV’s headquarters in Vignate, despite the fact that the company exports more than 65% of its products. “Our choice was against the general trend,” Volpe explained, “because in times of economic crisis, we invested in technology innovation and new professional resources, keeping our premises in Italy.” Founded in 1966, IGV designs and manufactures a range of customized lift products for the Italian and international markets, including DomusLift® home lifts.

Your author noted that IGV now uses laser and automated folding machines to work with metal sheet panels. Machines can operate 24/7 without human supervision and enhance manufacturing by saving time and improving accuracy.
