Indonesia Expo Announced

The third Indonesia Lift & Escalator Expo has been scheduled for July 11-13 at the Jakarta International Expo in Jakarta, Indonesia. More than 10,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors are expected to attend and participate in seminars, workshops, a conference, and technical and product presentations. Dubbed “Southeast Asia’s largest international expo for lift, escalator and buildings transportation system,” it is taking place in conjunction with the third Indonesia Building Mechanical & Electrical Expo, which includes smart building, and building automation and services.

After what organizer Wahyu Promo Citra calls “the grand success” of the 2016 edition, it is “set to display a full spectrum of products, technology and services for the building-transportation system, building mechanical electrical, and energy-efficiency solutions.” It also stated:

“Indonesia’s emerging economy is in dire need of better infrastructure, while rising personal income is driving demand for residential and commercial property. These factors put the country squarely on the radar of the global construction industry. Indonesia’s construction industry, already worth 10% of the country’s massive gross domestic product, will grow into one of the largest in the world in the coming decade. . . .

“With a huge population [of] nearly 260 million, high infrastructure spending and rapid urbanization, Indonesia is developing at an unprecedented rate. [With] high promising economic growth, and increasing demand for new and retrofitted office and commercial buildings, the demand for lift and escalator products and technology is [continuing to grow].”
