“Innovation” Sums Up Last Four Years

Montanari has seen a lot of success in its 50 years of traction machine manufacturing, especially recently.

We have thought a lot about choosing a word to define the last four years. The winner is “innovation,” through action and tangible improvement. In this period, Montanari Group has expanded the range and improved the performance of its drives. It has also added new services and functionality. In 2016, after analyzing that our customers wanted product quality, reliability, ease of installation and flexibility of use, we began a series of big changes.

Our testing tower opened in 2016. The 50-m-tall laboratory has three elevators; its modern design stands out in Modena, Italy. Here, new products and special projects come to life before being delivered to the customer. We reproduce the actual conditions of use and study every model’s particularity.

In 2017, new gearboxes and engines were introduced, renewed in design and improved in performance. More compact and quieter, our motors continued to be internally produced at the Montanari factory in Mairago, Italy (about 150 km from Modena). 

In 2018, the new gearless range for up to a 3000-kg load entered the market. The MGV34 drive has flexible application and allows optimal stock management: switching from machine-room to machine-room-less systems are easy, thanks to the Switch Kit that can also be installed later. 

In 2019, gearless is confirmed as the protagonist, together with speed governors. The MGS19 and MGV20 models introduced at Interlift can optimize space management, thanks to their small dimensions. The ideal use is for new installations or complete modernizations. The RQ-A speed governor has a wider intervention range and is applicable for home lift installations. In addition to its performance, the RC centrifugal speed governor offers the advantage of reduced size for high speeds, compared to other models on the market. Both can be supplied with different accessories. In the anti-creeping version, they act as devices to detect the uncontrolled movement of the cabin and to operate the safety gear according to applicable standards.

Finally, the recent introduction of the Montanariapp helps all concerned parties manage the installation and maintenance of our gearboxes, gearless, speed governors and safety gears. Efficiency is improved in that using the app eliminates all phone calls and waiting times for certificates, technical reports, installation manuals, inverter parameters and more. Additionally, as Montanari gearboxes and gearless drives are among the most imitated on the market, the app provides a guarantee on the originality of the product, because the QR code cannot be reproduced. Other features include direct service contact from the system and a tutorial section. 

This year, we celebrate 50 years of Montanari, which began in a garage and has grown to a worldwide brand.
