Lourenco-Becomes-Vice-President-of-Smart-Elevator-Tech

Margaret Lourenço has been named vice president of San Francisco-based Smart Elevator Tech, LLC. In this role, she will oversee day-to-day operations as the company undergoes growth. She joins the company and the elevator industry after a career as a Levi Strauss & Co. executive who led various functions, including operations, supply planning, finance and strategy. The addition of Lourenço to the team will allow her husband, Smart Elevator Tech founder Rich Blaska, to focus on his elevator-engineering firm, RCB Elevator Consulting LLC. Lourenço stated:

“While these are very different industries and the scale is also different, the fundamentals of customer service, quality and responsiveness are the same. Besides, I’ve been ‘married’ to the [elevator] industry for over 20 years!”

Since 1953, Elevator World, Inc. has been the premier publisher for the global vertical transportation industry. It employs specialists in Mobile, Alabama, and has technical and news correspondents around the world.
