The graduation ceremony of the Merih Asansör Academy, which is one of the first academies of TASFED, was held at Ostim Technical University. Students from the Elevator Systems Department received their diplomas from TASFED Chairman Yusuf Atik.
Twelfth grade students of Merih Asansör Academy, which operates under Yenimahalle Şehit Mehmet Şengül Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School since 2018, graduated. In his speech, TASFED Chairman Yusuf Atik spoke about the protocol signed with the Ministry of National Education and stated that their target is to raise a well-equipped generation for the elevator industry.
ATİK: “Have a broad vision”
Atik advised students not to give up dreaming and said, “Have a broad vision; there are lots of things you can do.” Atik said, “I still dream about what I can do for the elevator sector. I dream about an elevator that can be installed by a single woman and I dream about an elevator below 300 kg. Cannot we reduce the distance between Ankara and Istanbul to 20 minutes with an underground elevator? I dream about these things. You can improve yourself and carry our projects which are considered impossible. I have no doubt that you will impower our sector and carry it a step forward. Our federation will always be with you. We will always guide you. I celebrate all of our graduates.”
Advice to the students from Rector Yülek
Ostim Technical University Rector Murat Yülek gave advises to the students, saying, “Choose your university and department carefully. If you attend a university which is closely in touch with the sector, technology, and the market, then you will have the opportunity to get prepared to the future. He cited Elon Musk and said:
“Elon Musk came to America from South Africa. He organizes voyages to the space in America. Here, we think if we can organize a voyage from Sincan to Fatih. Elon Musk thinks about the voyage to the Moon. South Africa is not more advanced than Türkiye, in terms of economy and technology. Elon Musk’s father did not have more opportunities than did your father. There is no ‘no’ reason why you shouldn’t do what Elon Musk did.”
Last lesson from the Principal
Yenimahalle Şehit Mehmet Şengül, Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Principal, said, “Four years ago, you took your first lesson at our school and today the inspirational speeches made here will be your last lesson, and will help you take a strong step towards your future. I hope what you heard here will be beneficial for your steps forward. You are the future of this country. Being strong requires producing and producing requires vocational training. You took this step. I wish you a beautiful future.”
