As urban populations grow and cities become more densely populated, the demand for sustainable and accessible mobility solutions rises. With the repercussions of climate change pushing cities to reduce their carbon footprints, the need for innovation in transportation and infrastructure has never been clearer. However, while technological advancements are progressing, cities still face significant challenges in modernizing existing infrastructure and ensuring future mobility solutions are both sustainable and inclusive.

At the same time, the real estate industry is experiencing its own transformation. Rapid urbanization, heightened sustainability demands and the accelerating pace of digitalization are reshaping how buildings are designed, constructed and operated. As rising energy costs and evolving regulations add further pressure, the need for innovative solutions to future-proof buildings becomes even more urgent.

In this dynamic environment, MIPIM 2025 in Cannes, France, on March 11-14, provided a key platform for dialogue and collaboration, bringing together stakeholders from across the real estate ecosystem. MIPIM stands for Le Marché International des Professionnels de l’Immobilier or The International Market for Property Professionals. As industry leaders gathered, it was evident that real estate continues to evolve through digital innovation, sustainability and smarter mobility solutions.

TK Elevator’s (TKE) participation at MIPIM was especially timely, providing an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the company’s commitment to developing smarter, more sustainable mobility solutions that address the evolving demands of urban environments. The discussions around real estate transformation highlighted the relevance of TKE’s innovative offerings and their role in shaping the future of cities.

Beyond presenting its solutions, TKE actively engaged in discussions that revealed key trends and priorities for the industry. Engaging with customers, architects, developers and investors at MIPIM provided invaluable insights into their shifting needs. The event proved to be both energizing and enlightening, offering a deeper understanding of how the world is evolving and how mobility solution providers can play a key role in this transformation. The opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders on co-designing the cities of tomorrow was a key takeaway.

TKE showcased its focus on sustainable and digital solutions that address the challenges of urbanization, energy efficiency and accessibility. One standout innovation is the digital-native EOX platform, designed for both residential and commercial buildings. This eco-efficient system reduces energy consumption by up to 28% compared to previous products through smart, traffic-adaptive features and regenerative drives, making it an ideal solution for low- and mid-traffic buildings.

The event proved to be both energizing and enlightening, offering a deeper understanding of how the world is evolving and how mobility solution providers can play a key role in this transformation.

The event also emphasized the growing need for modernizing aging infrastructure to improve sustainability and ensure greater accessibility. With 20% of European Union buildings set to undergo modernization by 2030, upgrading elevator systems to meet evolving energy-efficiency standards is essential. Building owners in countries like Germany, France, Italy and the U.K. are increasingly investing in energy-efficient elevators with Internet of Things integration. The EOX Renew retrofit solution offers a flexible and scalable option to boost accessibility, sustainability and property value in older buildings.

Globally, more than 30% of elevators are older than 20 years, with the figure rising to more than 50% in Europe and North America. Maintaining and modernizing these systems is critical to extending their lifespan, reducing energy consumption and minimizing material use compared to full replacements. TKE’s Universal Service sets the standard for proactive, flexible and multi-brand maintenance. Through its International Technical Services, extensive stocked spare parts and expert global technicians, TKE provides high-quality service for any vertical-transportation system. From remote monitoring to on-site care, the company’s services emphasize safety, minimize downtime and contribute to creating more sustainable, connected cities.

The exchanges surrounding TWIN technology for mid- and high-rise buildings generated significant interest, underscoring the demand for solutions that enhance passenger flow and optimize building capacity. The TWIN system, with two independent cabins operating independently in a single shaft, reduces space requirements by up to 25% and increases passenger capacity by up to 40% compared to conventional elevator systems.

As cities and building owners look for smarter ways to optimize space and efficiency, advanced technologies like MAX and AGILE are becoming game-changers. At MIPIM, attendees also explored how TKE’ innovations, such as MAX and AGILE, deliver real value to building owners, facility managers and developers. MAX, the industry’s first cloud-based, predictive-maintenance solution, improves operational efficiency by minimizing breakdowns, reducing site visits and enhancing sustainability. AGILE optimizes elevator systems by analyzing traffic patterns to improve capacity, reduce energy consumption and decrease wait times and congestion for tenants.

MIPIM 2025 showcased the power of collaboration in shaping the future of urban mobility. TKE remains committed to partnering with stakeholders to create smarter, greener and more efficient built environments. The energy and enthusiasm at the event were palpable, and the connections made will drive TKE’s continued success in this rapidly evolving market. This positive experience reinforces the importance of MIPIM, and the company looks forward to strengthening its presence at this key industry event in the years ahead.
