Developer Endeavor Real Estate Group hopes to build a 30-story, mixed-use tower in Austin, Texas.

Austin developer Endeavor Real Estate Group has begun the permitting process to build a 30-story, mixed-use tower in the Texas capital’s Rainey Street neighborhood, KXAN. com reported in September. The city’s Design Commission, in reviewing the application, voted to recommend that the project at 91 Red River Street comply with city guidelines under the Downtown Density Bonus Program, which means it:

  • Incorporates public art
  • Provides a pleasant pedestrian experience
  • Is visually interesting
  • Doesn’t negatively impact nearby development
  • Fits in with the character of the city

Under the developer’s plan, the building would house 347 residential units, 73,000 sq. ft. of office space and more than 10,000 sq. ft. of retail. Several levels of parking are also planned. The goal, a company spokesman said, is to create a “live, work and play” development. The company hopes to begin construction by early 2019.
