When KONE approached REEX Group to be involved in the transformation of multiple lift entrances in Scotland, the goal was clear: to replace dated, scratched and dented gold finishes with a sleek, modern design. The REEX team began by preparing the lift entrances to ensure a flawless finish. Scratches were carefully smoothed out, and dents were filled using professional sanding tools. Once the surfaces were repaired, they were meticulously cleaned to remove any traces of dust, ensuring the materials would adhere perfectly. This step was vital to achieving the sleek and durable finish the client envisioned.
With the groundwork complete, the real transformation began. Using its advanced resurfacing techniques, REEX applied a modern black finish directly to the lift entrances, all done in situ. “The result was a stunning, refreshed appearance that gave the building a contemporary edge,” REEX said.
Unlike traditional refurbishment methods such as spraying or offsite reskinning, the REEX process eliminated the need for hoardings and extensive engineering support. Each installer was able to resurface more than five sets of lift entrance doors per day, keeping the project on schedule and within budget.
The finished lift entrances speak for themselves.
