DigiPara Software Updates
DigiPara of Frechen, Germany, offers the Elevatorarchitect and Find programs. Elevatorarchitect supports Autodesk® Revit® users in finding the correct size and number of required elevators and escalators, according to their location. It can guide them toward reaching an optimal 3D Revit model. New in 2018, the user can import Schindler escalators and moving walks into a Revit building. Also, it is now possible to select imported elements based on full building-information-modeling imports’ parent type. The display of wall openings, transparencies and materials such as glass for these imports are now supported. They are visible for both elevators and escalators within Revit.
Integrated inside Elevatorarchitect, the company’s Find software promotes and suggests elevators to more than 25,000 architects in its computer-aided-design system. This number has grown quickly and, the company says, means Find will keep users “one step ahead of ‘Google Search’” and their competitors.
thyssenkrupp Home Lifts, Modernization Package
thyssenkrupp’s new home lifts, available globally, offer one technology platform with three options for lifting systems: the H100 with spindle technology, the H200 with hydraulic technology and the H300 with cog-belt technology. They feature standardized drives, one modular design with shared components and spare parts, and small pit and headroom dimensions intended for easy installation. They comply with all standard dimensions and configurations, are third-party certified, and meet requirements for safe accessibility. A patented metal shaft option can make the lift weatherproof and suitable for seismic conditions.
The G2-Power+ modernization system is a complete pre-engineered package that can be installed with minimal disruption to a building’s traffic flow. Designed to replace geared elevators, the upgrade includes an advanced TAC32T microprocessor controller with diagnostic capabilities to reduce downtime; a permanent-magnet AC motor that only runs when the elevator is in use to reduce energy consumption; a universal door operator for quick, smooth and quiet operation; and sustainable regenerative drive requiring less air-conditioning in the machine room. MAX predictive-maintenance technology (ELEVATOR WORLD, January 2016) is also included in the package, as is LED cab lighting with optional motion sensor; a dual-brake system that prevents unintended motion; an elevator cab-door interlock; and a door-reversal electronic safety edge. It is primarily a U.S. and Canadian product.
Contactor-Less Control Panel
TAL Engineering has released its VITA Lift Controller, which has no motor or brake contactor. Intended for both modernizations and new projects with variable-voltage, variable-frequency motors and hydraulic elevators, it is designed for completely silent operation, longer service life and less maintenance. The modular panels have no moving parts or electromechanical contactors, and are guaranteed for three years. The controllers, with fault finding and remote monitoring as standard, are preconfigured and include plug-and-play wiring. The Israeli manufacturer notes it is open for special requests and customizations for OEM and private labeling.
