On April 16-19, the National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) Spring Educational Conference was held at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in Waikoloa Beach, Hawaii. The four-day event offered daytime educational opportunities, as well as the chance to network and take in the beautiful vistas of Hawaii’s Big Island in the afternoons.
The conference commenced on Sunday with a welcome reception where attendees had the opportunity to connect with new and old friends while enjoying local seasonal fare at the resort’s Naupaka Terrace and Lawn. The next day, a hearty breakfast was served as NAEC President John Tolar gave his State of the Association address, followed by keynote speaker Geno Godinet, owner of Access Lifts of Hawaii. Also on the agenda for Monday was the official golf tournament at Mauna Lani’s North Course, a rolling 18-hole golf course built on a lava bed and surrounded by Kiawe forests. Another not-to-be-missed occasion was the Dregs Party, the final event of the conference, held Wednesday evening. Guests were treated to a luau, completed with a traditional Hawaiian feast and classic Polynesian entertainment.
The conference was “an absolute hit,” according to NAEC National Development Officer Lori Wolking. She commented:
“Attendees were thrilled by the incredible networking opportunities, enriching sessions and invaluable insights gained. Already buzzing with anticipation, we can’t wait until next year’s gathering in Miramar Beach, Florida, where we’ll continue to build connections, learn and grow together!”
NAEC’s 2024 Spring Conference will be held on April 14-17 at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida.
