As TASİAD (All Elevator Industrialists and Businessmen Association) Board of Directors, we have set forth to update the experience and knowledge of our association, which has been operating for the development of the Turkish lift industry for 35 years, and to offer it for the use of our industry with a principled stance prioritizing honest gain and ethical values through the civil society understanding of today. Steady growth, industry-specific development and social interaction are the main titles that create the roadmap of our vision in the new period.  We will implement a new and effective model that will support industry-specific development with an integrated and inclusive understanding.  We will carry out our work on subjects such as institutionalization, globalization, digital transformation, scaling and sustainability with the industrial, social, global and digital pressure groups that we have created with a dynamic management staff. With these works that we will set forth in the short-, medium- and medium-/long-term, we aim to create and carry out social innovation over industrial benefit. Our members will experience the privilege of being a part of TASİAD at the end of the impact-oriented change and transformation period.

Industrial NGOs Need a Regulation

Unfortunately, the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of the industry have a traditionalism that has been formed over the years. This has been regarded effectual until today, but we must integrate the civil society culture — which has changed through the new world order — into our industry from now on. During the last earthquake disaster we experienced, we saw that acting collectively is quite important in situations like natural disasters affecting a great part of society. Therefore, the presence of civil societies that have the capability of uniting the groups they represent together for the same purpose is quite important. The same applies for our industry. However, it is not possible to mention total unity and solidarity under the same roof as NGOs.  We need serious regulations to create an international industrial NGO.  The societies that have an impact on the development of the industry should be able to meet the needs of their members at first. And for this, they need to grow stronger or to be strengthened.

If the common ground of all societies is to contribute to the development of the industry, we should not be marginalized then!

For NGOs to gain an advantage in society, they should be one step ahead of the groups they represent. They should be in the picture and access information easily. Our greatest handicap is ignorance. We can’t manage the unknown. But we are trying to do this. What is a society? What is a federation? What is a union? What are their duties and purposes? How do they work?  We do not know these answers. We know some of them partially. There are also false facts. We will mention all these things that we know and do not know, the errors and mistakes, when appropriate.

TASİAD and Technology

We are in the technology era. The future world is built with wisdom and science. We should strengthen the lift industry in line with its economic contributions and values, while we take our place in the new world order, as a country. We should integrate technology into our industry and establish a lift ecosystem with all its components. We can do this by creating a visionary NGO culture that is appropriate for the new world order, up to date and protects the work-life balance.

On behalf of TASİAD, I would like to inform you that we will offer all our informative training works, first for the benefit of our members and then, share these on digital platforms to put them at the disposal of the whole industry.  I also would like to state that we will share such improvements with  our entire industry and, in particular, to our members in the upcoming days.
