Apex Promotes Thomas to Service Director
Apex Lifts, which serves the London area, has promoted Steve Thomas from service contract manager to service director. In this role, Thomas manages contracts and oversees the service delivery team. Thomas joined the industry in 1976 as a construction apprentice at Porn & Dunwoody Lifts, where he concluded his training in the maintenance department. Since then, he has worked throughout the south of England as a principal lift engineer and lift and escalator supervisor. He has worked for Apex since 2000. Thomas said he “looks forward to helping cement Apex’s already fantastic reputation in the industry.”
Alimak CFO Resigns Position for Health Reasons
Alimak Group AB Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Per Ekstedt has resigned from his position for health reasons but remains with the company. Chief Operating Officer Stefan Rinaldo, who previously served as CFO, has taken the position on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is found.
A September 6 company announcement said Ekstedt was taking an extended sick leave. In the statement, Ekstedt said, “The work has been very rewarding and interesting during a period characterized by strong growth. However, my health has gradually deteriorated, and I have, therefore, concluded that this decision is the best solution for all parties.”
The company launched an immediate search for a permanent CFO. Stockholm, Sweden-based Alimak Group is a leading maker of rack-and-pinion and traction industrial elevators and construction hoists.
