Quality by Design

Quality-by-Design
This custom, modern stile-and-rail design (assembled from multiple frames and applied panels) works for both newly modernized buildings and older historic buildings.

A look at Canton Architectural Products and its 15-year track record of providing cabs and cab components.

Canton Elevator was founded in 1946 and has strived to maintain a reputation for standards of high quality and quick turnaround on projects. Subsidiary Canton Architectural Products was launched in 2004 and, operating in the same North Canton, Ohio, facility as its parent, manufactures and markets all types and configurations of elevator cabs and cab components to the same standards.

Canton Architectural Products has expanded its capabilities with specialized cabs for public-transit applications, such as subways, airports and railway stations, that are subject to high-traffic demands. These cabs feature walls and doors manufactured with clear, laminated, tempered safety glass panels for heightened visibility and durability. The cab structure and car tops can be fabricated from alloy 316 stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance. They can be designed to meet specified weight requirements and equipped with air-conditioning for use in warm climates.

Canton Architectural Products’ modernization packages include hang-on wall panels, ceiling and lighting options and a variety of materials and designs for handrails and bumper rails. Upgraded cabs enhance the appearance of elevators and can leave a lasting impression.

Clients can choose from a standard line of cabs available with several different designs and finishes, but the company also builds custom-designed cabs that meet customers’ plans and specifications. Available materials include stainless steel, bronze, decorative art glass, back-painted glass, wood veneer, custom millwork, marble and granite.

The company’s services include cabs for new construction, cabs and cab components for modernization or repair, and design and value- engineering consultation. Features include:

  • All cabs are engineered using 3D modeling software.
  • Every cab is fully assembled, erected and subjected to a thorough inspection prior to shipping.
  • All cabs are ASME A17.1 code compliant.
  • All side walls, canopies and ceilings are packed and shipped preassembled for quick and simple field assembly.
  • All lighting is mounted, prewired and tested prior to shipping to save on field labor.

♦ Canopy panels are fabricated from 12-ga. steel with a powder- coated finish.

♦ Steel walls, entry posts and transoms are fabricated from 14-ga. steel.

Canton Architectural Products cabs can be found in applications ranging from standard to class-A buildings to transit facilities, and everything in-between. The company believes its best salespeople are the mechanics who install its products.
