Having met with industrialists in Kayseri on May 27, 2020, via teleconference, Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology, announced that they have prepared, together with the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), a guide on the measures that should be taken in industrial facilities.
Stating that Turkey could be one of the countries that determine the rules for the new normal, Varank said, “In the coming period, “reliability” will be at the center of all economic activities. The ones who focus on areas such as reliable production, reliable trade and reliable tourism will be the winners of the new period. From this point of view, we have taken a critical step in industry to increase country and product reliability. In cooperation with TSE, we have prepared a guide for the measures that should be taken in industrial facilities during the normalization process. The guide draws a flexible framework that differs for each sector. We do not bring huge costs for the companies. We just recommend simple but effective measures. The companies that take the necessary measures will be granted a COVID-19 Safe Production Quality Certificate.” Varank also underlined that, with the help of the above-mentioned certificate, industrialists will gain an advantage over their competitors when selling their products in domestic and foreign markets.
Kayseri Governor Şehmus Günaydın, Metropolitan Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç, Chamber of Industry President Mehmet Büyüksimitçi, Chamber of Commerce President Ömer Gülsoy, OSM Chairman Tait Nursaçan, Vice President of the Free Zone Executive Board Yılmaz Büyüknalbant and Mimar Sinan OSB Chairman Mehmet Karabulut also attended the consultation meeting held via teleconference.
