The industry event celebrated two anniversaries with 174 companies from 19 countries.

The key event of the lift industry in Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries — Russian Elevator Week, the International Exhibition of Elevators and Elevator Equipment — took place on June 26-28 in Pavilion 75 at Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNH) expo area. Organizers of the exhibition were JSC VDNH and  National Lift Union.

The event celebrated two anniversaries in 2019: 80 years since the foundation of the VDNH and 70 years since the birth of the elevator industry in Russia. On a floor area of more than 9,000 m2, 174 companies from 19 countries demonstrated innovative developments in elevator engineering and hoisting and transport equipment.

Companies from Bulgaria; Germany; Belarus; South Korea; Greece; Russia; Iran; the U.S.; Spain; Turkey; Italy; Ukraine; China; Poland; Czech Republic; Switzerland; the Netherlands; and, of course Russia took part in this year’s event. And, for the first time, there were participants from Estonia and Luxembourg. The expo area grew by 15% compared to that of the 2017 exhibition. More than 6,000 specialists visited, and participants concluded dozens of partnership agreements and contracts, one of which exceeded the amount of RUB150 million (US$2.4 million). In another first for Russian Elevator Week, the exhibition bore the international mark of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

Participants in the official opening ceremony included:

  • Evgeny Muratov, deputy director of Machine Tool Building and Investment Machine Building Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation
  • Oleg Betin, deputy chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation
  • Matteo Volpe, president of the European Lift & Lift Component Association
  • Michael Gubisch, vice president of VFA-Interlift
  • Zhang Lexiang, general secretary of the China  Elevator Association
  • Kim Young-Kee, president and CEO, Korea Elevator  Safety Agency
  • Suren Vardanyan, vice president, Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • Anna Mamonova, executive director, Association of Regional Overhaul Operators
  • Victor Tishin, president, National Lift Union
  • Arthur Antonyan, first deputy of the general director of  JSC VDNH

Large foreign companies demonstrated new products at the event. Among the participants were such industry leaders as KLEEMANN, Otis, Fermator, Giovenzana, Mogilevliftmash, Montanari, Doppler, Orona, Canny and AH&MET Asansor. Among leading Russian companies were Karacharovskiy mechanical plant, Scherbinka elevator plant, Evroliftmash, JSC MEL, JSC Moslift, Chelyabinsky elevator plant Witchel, En-El, Neiron, Intelcraft and Transenergo. Participants from South Korea, China, Turkey and Germany presented national collective expositions.

The key events of the business program were the conference “Renovation of the Elevator Park of the Russian Federation,” dedicated to replacement of old elevators to modern, energy-efficient equipment, and seminar “Independent Assessment Of Professional Qualification In The Elevator Industry, Lifting Facilities And Vertical Transport Sphere, Assessment And Assignment Of Professional Qualifications To Elevator Industry Workers.” In the framework of the business program, there were also organized discussions, roundtables and presentations dedicated to elevator operations, import substitution and creation of a barrier-free environment for people with disabilities.

Prizes for the best achievements and developments in the field of vertical transportation were awarded to:

  • Mogilevliftmash (Belarus) — best elevator
  • Karacharovskiy mechanical plant (Russia) — best elevator of national production for programs of capital repair of housing sector
  • Neo Park, LLC (Russia) — innovations in lifting and handling equipment
  • Neiron (Russia) — innovations in elevator control systems
  • Lift Complex DC (Russia) — innovations in control systems for elevator operation and dispatcher communication
  • JSC Moslift (Russia) — creation of a barrier-free environment in buildings and city constructions
  • European elevator machines, LLC (Russia) — import substitution of elevator components (for residents of the Russian Federation)
  • Euroliftmash (Russia) — best stand
  • Giovenzana (Italy) — best foreign exhibit
