Russian Elevator Week 2025

13th Russian Elevator Week

The 13th Russian Elevator Week was held on June 25-27 at Hall 57 of the VDNKH Exhibition Center and in three outdoor tents.

Following the Russia-Ukraine war and the sanctions imposed on Russia by the U.S. and the European Union, European manufacturers — particularly OEMs (such as Otis, KONE, Schindler and TK Elevator) — ceased their operations in Russia. This sudden void created significant opportunities for Chinese companies, particularly in high-rise buildings. This rapid change was evident not only in the elevator and escalator sector but also in all aspects of daily life. Compared to the years before the war, it was possible to see hundreds of thousands of Chinese-made vehicles on the streets of Moscow.

At the Russian Elevator Week fair, various elevator equipment such as passenger and freight elevators, elevators for people with disabilities, automatic parking elevators and elevator and escalator components were exhibited. Approximately 5,000 people, mostly from Moscow, visited the fair, where 115 local and foreign companies set up booths. Due to sanctions, there were no participants from Europe at the fair, and the number of Chinese companies with booths exceeded that of local manufacturers. Turkish companies participating in the fair included Akış, Butkon, CEO Asansör, Fabre, Metroplast, Tower Lift, Onaylift, Özbeşler and Yener Övünç.

Forum Program

As part of the forum program held concurrently with the fair, a panel discussion on the topic of “Replacement of Elevator Equipment During Major Repairs Across Russia” was organized on the first day, with the participation of Alexey Eresko, deputy minister of Construction and Housing of Russia. During the event, officials and business representatives exchanged views on the replacement of old elevators and various support mechanisms for the elevator sector.

The main topics of the panel included ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Customs Union’s Technical Regulation on Elevator Safety (TR TS 011/2011) for the period 2025-2030, financing sources for elevator equipment replacement and the mechanism for waiving central budget loans.

Additionally, the meeting addressed technical regulation issues related to the replacement and modernization of elevator equipment in large-scale renovation programs for multi-story residential buildings, the system for establishing a human resources reserve in the sector and programs to enhance the professional qualifications of elevator technicians.

Eresko emphasized: “The Russian Ministry of Construction, in collaboration with relevant federal executive bodies and organizations, is conducting comprehensive efforts to develop the elevator sector in the Russian Federation. Under a new support mechanism launched in 2025, it is planned to waive two-thirds of regional budget loans, provided they are used for elevator replacement.”

In addition to the forum program, participants in Russian Elevator Week – 2025 organized the “Elevator Beauty” competition for the first time as part of a comprehensive competition program aimed at supporting women in the profession.

Additionally, on June 27, a Family Day event was held. During this event, fair participants and guests, along with their families, had the opportunity to explore museums and exhibitions at VDNKH. Children and young people enjoyed an interactive game program.

Among the visitors to the fair were public officials, representatives of urban planning and housing-communal services, regulatory bodies, elevator manufacturers from Türkiye, China, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and the largest local companies.

Shcherbinsky Lifts’ “Aspect” Model Won the Best Elevator Award

Shcherbinsky Lifts’“Aspect” model elevator was selected as the best elevator in the “Best Elevator for Large-Scale Renovation Programs of Multi-Story Buildings” category at the Russian Elevator Week fair. Introduced at the “Moscow – City of the Future” forum in August 2024 and proven effective in regional Capital Repair Fund programs for replacing old elevator equipment, the “Aspect” and “Gorizont” models, featuring a round digital screen, have become the cornerstone of the company’s business-class segment model range and have also garnered praise from visitors.
