Luma

Savaria’s new Luma offers elegant personal mobility and safety.

For customers who don’t want a stairlift, Savaria introduces the Luma through-floor home lift. Offering elegant personal mobility and industry-leading safety, the Luma home lift is a two-stop lift that travels through a simple floor cut-out. It is ideal for aging-in-place remodeling projects. Its self-supporting rail system makes the lift flexible for placement. No shaft or support wall is required, and a space-saving design has only a 38 in X 47 in footprint. Savaria North America Accessibility President Alex Bourassa said:

“We have experienced continued growth in the home elevator market, yet not everyone has the space to retrofit a hoistway into their home. We challenged our R&D team to create a through-floor lift that was both beautiful to look at and met safety code. Not only did they do that, but they added thoughtful touches such as an ambient lighting system and sloped entrance.”

The Savaria Luma lift features:

  • Reliable winding drum drive for quiet, smooth operation
  • Battery power with built-in charging, providing emergency operation during a power failure
  • Self-supporting rails for flexible placement with no need for a support wall
  • Full-height, crystal-clear acrylic paneled door and cabin for a spacious, luxury feel and safe enclosure for travel
  • Recessed lighting
  • Illuminated push-to-run buttons and built-in call button
  • Sloped threshold for easy access with a mobility aid
  • Attractive, non-skid cabin flooring
  • Ventilation fan for in-cabin air flow and comfort
  • An LCD lift status display including advising of any issues
  • Two radiofrequency remote controls to allow the lift to be called remotely
  • An optional two-door model for straight-through access to accommodate floorplan needs or for easier access with a walker or rollator
  • Fast installation time of one or two days Safety features include:
  • Emergency stop and alarm buttons
  • Sensors to stop the lift in either direction if it encounters any obstruction
  • Overspeed arrestor system to ensure lift never exceeds appropriate speed
  • Door interlock to keep the door locked when lift is in use
