Thyssenkrupp Elevator, the elevator, escalator and moving walk supplier of the two biggest metro line projects in Istanbul, namely the Ataköy-Ikıtelli and Kirazlı-Bakırköy IDO metro lines, also became the supplier of Başakşehir-Kayaşehir metro line.

Thyssenkrupp Elevator will supply 23 elevators, 44 escalators and four moving walks for Başakşehir-Kayaşehir Metro Line.

According to thyssenkrup Elevator CEO Artuğ Özeren:

“We are extremely happy to give service to this important line, which has an investment cost of approximately 1 billion TL and critical importance due to its location, with our products and technology. We will supply high-capacity, long-lasting and high-security elevator, escalator and moving walks for the project which are suitable for 24/7 operation. Our products, which meet the technical and safety requirements of the project specifications, will also provide uninterrupted service for the heavy traffic of the line. We were preferred for this project thanks to our experience in metro projects, as well as our quality products, which technically and technologically meet the requirement.

“In addition to our local and global experience, we will provide smooth, safe and uninterrupted mobility for the people in Istanbul based on the recent experience we gained from Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey, which we have completed the first phase of, and Ataköy-İkitelli and Bakırköy İDO-Kirazlı metro lines, where the installations go on. We will present another reference project to Istanbul and the transportation industry with our equipment, which we aim to install by the end of the last quarter of 2021.”

Two of the four metro line stations, which will be the northern extension of Kirazlı-Metrokent/Başakşehir metro line, are planned to be put into service at the end of 2021. High performance, long-lasting and high-capacity escalators, which are used in metro stations in Europe, Asia and America, will be used at the metro line, which will make access to Baçakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital easier. Heavy-duty escalators, which are designed for providing 24/7 uninterrupted service and mobility, will provide a safe and comfortable trip for the people of Istanbul in all climatic conditions.

High-capacity and safe elevators will also be available at the metro line. The elevators, which meet European standards, will provide uninterrupted mobility for the high traffic of the hospital and the metro with its capacity of 180 trips per hour. Equipment, which can be modified for all climatic conditions, will reduce the operating costs of the metro line through the saving figures it provides.

The line, which starts in the Metrokent tail tunnel, is 6.6 km long and consists of 4 stations. On the route, there is İkitelli City Hospital station and Kayaşehir Central Station, which is integrated with Halkalı – 3rd Airport.
