thyssenkrupp to Provide 83 Units for Bhartiya City

thyssenkrupp Elevator (India) Pvt. Ltd. has been chosen by Bhartiya International Ltd. to equip Bhartiya City’s various upcoming projects, such as a hotel and convention center, banquet hall, branded residences by a major hospitality corporation and a retail project with a cineplex. It will provide 48 elevators, 22 commercial escalators, 12 moving walks and one platform lift, said Manish Mehan, CEO, thyssenkrupp Elevator (India), who added:

“We are delighted to receive this order from Bhartiya International. With our proven capabilities to successfully execute mega projects, such as Delhi International Airport, T3 (180 units); Amanora Park Town, Pune (144 units); and Mall of India, Noida (100 units). . . we are confident we create added value and enhance our customers’ satisfaction.”

KONE India Partners with University on VT Degree Program

KONE Elevator India is partnering with Chitkara University in Punjab to offer a three-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering with a vertical-transportation (VT) focus, The New Indian Express reported in March. Touting the program as unique, KONE Elevator India Managing Director Amit Gossain said the VT industry needs R&D and manpower, which the program will help deliver. It consists of eight courses that combine classroom, lab and hands-on learning. During the final year, students are offered a five-month internship at KONE India, which, the source said, “will ensure practical immersion by allowing them to learn manufacturing, installation, commissioning and maintenance.”
