Total of TRY45-Million in Penalty Fines for Lift Companies

The Ministry of Industry and Trade recently announced the 2023 Market Surveillance and Inspection results.

According to the report, 32,101 products were inspected last year, and a total of TRY81.28 million in fines were imposed on those found inconvenient. At 22.71%, lifts were the product group with the highest inconvenience rate. This group was followed by cable cars (17.46%) and energy efficiency (15.45%). In 2023, a total of 9,683 inspections were conducted on the companies that conduct product inspections and lift maintenance activities; A-type inspection bodies performing periodical controls; and the service inspection activities regarding building managers. Among these, 2,199 were found inconvenient. Twohundred-fifty-two of these were tested, and an improvement time was provided for 153 of them. A total of 45.33-million TRY penalty fine was imposed on the lifts found inconvenient in 2023.
