Turkey is at the Top of the List of the Highest Skyscrapers

According to the February 2022 data published by Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), Turkey is the country with the highest number of skyscrapers over 150 meters in Europe, while Istanbul is the European city with the highest number of skyscrapers.

While there are 67 skyscrapers in Turkey, there are 51 skyscrapers in Russia and 33 skyscrapers in England. Other countries and the number of skyscrapers over 150 meters are: France (24), Germany (20), Spain (13), Poland (12), Netherlands and Italy (6), Austria (3), Switzerland and Sweden (1).

The city with the highest number of skyscrapers: Istanbul

In addition to Istanbul, which is the European city with the highest number of skyscrapers, Ankara and Izmir are also on the list of highest number of skyscrapers per cities. The cities with the highest number of skyscrapers at the Top 5 are: İstanbul (48), Moscow (46), London (30), Frankfurt (17) and Courbevoie (13). Ankara and Izmir are at Top 10 with the number of skyscrapers 11 and six, respectively.

China is the country with the highest number of skyscrapers

Turkey, which is at the top of the list in Europe, is 14th on the list of countries with the highest number of skyscrapers around the world. China is at the top of the global list with 2,708 skyscrapers. In the USA, which is Top 2 on the list, there are 848 skyscrapers over 150 meters. Some of the other countries with the highest number of skyscrapers are:  UAE (310), South Korea (272), Japan (269), Malaysia (140), Australia (136), Indonesia (128), Thailand (124), Canada (122), Philippines (120), India (97), Singapore (96), Turkey (67), Panama (65) and Brazil (54).
