Electronic Controls, Inc. (ECI) America’s residential door operators highlight the company’s dedication to innovation within the elevator industry. With more than 40 years of experience, ECI America has evolved to serve both commercial and residential sectors with solutions proudly made in America.

The residential door operator series from ECI America was carefully designed to meet performance and reliability standards. These operators integrate advanced technology from commercial door control products, ensuring enhanced dependability, simplicity of installation and adjustment through onboard LCD displays. Features like closed-loop positioning feedback and automatic reset capabilities in case of power failures, alongside ultra-quiet linear drive motion, provide users with peace of mind. Powered by brushless DC motors and drive systems, these operators have a maintenance-free life cycle of more than 100,000 cycles.

ECI America’s Residential Door Operator Lineup

ECI America offers three distinct models of residential door operators: the 3000, 4000 and 5000 series, each tailored to meet specific needs within the residential elevator community.

The 3000 series is primarily designed to operate accordion-style gate doors, offering clear gate openings ranging from 29 in. to 48 in. Most common is the 36-in. clear-opening operator, which provides favorable dimensions in a vertical footprint.

The 4000 series is designed to support sliding panel doors, offering a lower profile that facilitates easy installation on raised door extrusions, complementing similar door offerings by other manufacturers.

The 5000 series marks a highly anticipated release later this year, promising to bring the upscale look and feel of commercial elevator doors to personal residences. These operators, available in two-speed bi-parting center opening doors or two-speed side-opening doors, are expected to revolutionize residential hoistway design by significantly reducing dimensional requirements. The bi-parting mechanism enables the use of smaller overlapping door panels, facilitating reduced hoistways of less than 60 in. Offering a clear 36-in. center bi-parting door opening within a compact 54-in. overall footprint, this series provides versatility, with options for both car and hoistway doors.
